A 3′ x 4′ print of Chorley Springtime was bought by local firm C.P. Davidson at a charity event at Shaw Hill last night (Friday 6th October). The print was donated by artfortheworkplace and Poppy Signs to Lady Captain’s Charity Auction, which followed a special golf day at the club.
Philip Davidson said the family felt they must have it for the boardroom because they loved it and it is about their town.
Hopefully soon to be appearing in more boardrooms! Already on display in Chorley Town Hall reception, the print has also been chosen by local accountants Studholme Bell for their offices in Euxton. Enquire here.
Playing a main role during the Milan Design Week 2017, the so-called Millenial Pink is now a trend in the design world thanks to its versatility.
The trend comes from the fashion sector, where this colour was already one of the most used. An example was the Milan Design Week of this year, where many designers used it for different applications. The proposal of the French designer Marc Ange, “Le Refuge” stood out above the rest. His design is composed by a bed entirely millenial pink that matches with a leaf canopy of this same tone, forming a unique and innovative space. Wow!

Chorley Council have encouraged local businesses to shout about everything Chorley has to offer and keep business in the town. Many businesses from Chorley and district meet regularly in the town hall to discuss how we can do this, at the many Choose Chorley networking events.
‘Chorley Springtime’, a painting all about Chorley, welcomes visitors in the reception of the Town Hall. It is also used on postcards handed out at Expos to encourage businesses to relocate here. Now you can show your enthusiasm for the town and all it has to offer by hanging a print of ‘Chorley Springtime’ in your reception or boardroom – for as little as £195! (full colour print on board, 36” x 24”, ready to hang).

Chorley Council are spreading the word about Chorley as a great place to live and work at various Expos in Manchester and Preston. They have chosen the Chorley Springtime painting to feature on special ‘wish you were here’ postcards to hand out at any venue that they visit. A large print of the painting is on display in the reception of the town hall. Large format prints are available – for your boardroom perhaps?

On a recent trip to Florida and Houston, Texas I saw many examples of murals (indoor and outside in the street) and acceptable graffiti. In Houston they even had places where anyone can try out their skills and ideas with spray cans.
Manchester has many examples.
Maybe it’s time for smaller towns and boroughs in the UK, like Chorley, to liven up the environment with some street art? Let’s get started! 07590 459328.
A forward-thinking committee for a community centre in the beautiful seaside town of Lyme Regis, Dorset, have engaged us to create a scheme for a special room which is to be used for weddings and civil ceremonies, as well as other functions. The brief is to provide a setting that is both romantic and atmospheric, and has the spirit of the town and all its well-known features. Our scheme includes images by local photographer Richard Austin, who’s work is well known nationally and often featured in the national papers, as wallpaper feature murals showing the famous ‘Cobb’ harbour wall and Marine Parade. Other images of vintage flowers, country wreathes and plaster cherubs, also in wallpaper panels, will be complemented by soft pastel painted walls, chandelier wall lights and striped roman blinds. A wooden floor will have a pink carpet rolled out for ceremonies and chair covers with lace bows will complete the perfect setting for a romantic country/seaside wedding.
The original painting ‘Chorley Winter’, which features on special Christmas cards produced this year, was given a vote of confidence by visitors to Lodge Artists’ Annual Exhibition in Astley Hall. Everyone who comes to the exhibition, which runs throughout November and December, is asked to vote for their favourite painting. The artist’s impression of winter in Chorley took the award, as described in the Chorley Guardian article. Cards will be on sale in the new Coach House gift shop as well as selected outlets in the town, the new Mormon Temple visitors’ centre and through this website.
